Data protection for Footprint Tours

The data controller is Footprint Tours. The safety of your personal data is important to us. Data protection is also regulated by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which came into force on 25 May 2018. Personal data we collect
The personal data we process include, but are not limited to, your name, date of birth, sex, address, email address and phone number.
We can also process data registered in connection with your booking, including the destination, special dietary requests or special information provided by you about your state of health or other information related to the customer relationship.
The personal data are provided by you when you book a tour, create an account, or use other services online or by phone.
The purpose of the processing of personal data
We will process your personal data to fulfil our obligations in relation to you. For example, this could be to provide the tour or additional services you have ordered, or to provide such services and/or products as we offer or that you have requested when creating a personal account.
Your personal data may also be processed to enable us to fulfil statutory or regulatory obligations or deal with questions or complaints.
By providing us with information about your state of health, you are consenting to us processing these personal data to organize the tour or provide other services and/or products that you have ordered.
In addition to the above-mentioned purposes, you consent to your personal data being used for the purposes mentioned below, and to them forming a basis for market and customer analysis, risk management and statistics, and for providing you with better travel products and service.
Unless you opt out of direct marketing, we can also use your personal data to offer you our services and/or products. You can opt out of receiving such marketing information at any time.
By providing information about your state of health, you are consenting to us processing these personal data to organize the tour or provide other services and/or products that you have ordered. Health data are never used for statistical, market survey or marketing purposes.
Personal data storage
We store personal data for as long as it is necessary to fulfil the purposes described above. Normally, we store your personal data for a period of three years after you travel or are in contact with us.
In some cases, we may have to store data for longer when required by law (for example the Norwegian Accounting Act) or in connection with complaints etc.
Who may process your personal data?
Your personal data will be processed by our staff, by our system partners and by administrative service partners with which we have personal data protection agreements.
Your personal data may also be processed by travel and tourism enterprises, for example by airlines, coach companies, hotels, and local partners at the destination. Only necessary information will be disclosed when required.
Personal data processing in countries outside the EU/EEA
Depending on the destination for your tour, personal data may be processed outside the EU/EEA. Even if the final destination is located within the EU/EEA, transport companies and hotels may be based outside the EU/EEA. Only information necessary for the performance of the tour and other services will be disclosed to our partners.
By submitting your personal data to us, you accept that we process personal data outside the EU/EEA and confirm that you are aware that the data protection standards may be lower than within the EU/EEA.
Your rights to your information
You have the right to withdraw your consent to our data processing at any time.
You are also entitled to request that your personal data be corrected or deleted. Such requests must be addressed to us in writing. Your data will then be corrected or deleted within one month. In the event that you have an uncompleted tour, an ongoing complaint case or similar at the time when we receive your request, the data will be deleted within one month of completion.
You can log in to “My bookings” using your password and email address to see the personal data we have stored about you and your tours, or to correct and update information. You can also contact us to request access to the information we have registered about you, and we will give you such access within one month.
